Max Kommorowski can look back on decades of experience in the shipbuilding and ship supply industry. He started out as a journeyman at the Blohm und Voss shipyard in Hamburg, later went back to school and graduated from a technical college with a degree in engineering. This was followed by positions as Project Manager for major ship repairs and conversions, Repair Management and Technical Managing Director at shipyards. He also held various positions as Managing Director as well as marketing and sales positions at ship supply companies.
Since 2012, Max Kommorowski has been involved with the topic of shore power for cruise ships, starting with the development, responsible management of the construction and commissioning of the LNG hybrid barge ‘Hummel’ at Becker-Marine-Systems. The approval process was one of the biggest challenges.
Max Kommorowski founded MKO Marine Consulting in 2018. The company provides consultancy services and prepares feasibility studies for ports and shipping companies in the field of infrastructure and technology for effective solutions for the delivery and transfer of onshore power to cruise ships and container ships.
Its customers include ports such as Hamburg Port Authority, Lübeck Port Authority, Rijeka Port Authority, Rostock Port Authority, Transport Malta and other ports.
The scope of supply of MKO Marine Consulting also includes the topic of clean fuels in shipping, such as batteries, LNG, ammonia, methanol, etc. as future fuels.
